Concord grapes are so amazing. I’d never eaten them, except for in juice and jelly form, until a couple of years ago. Turns out they taste just like grape juice, in a good way. They have an odd but appealing texture- taught skin on the outside which pops to reveal a soft ball of flesh on the inside. They feel like eating a delicious eyeball. I can’t get enough while they’re in season (which is now!).

A few years ago I learned that the white dust on grapes is actually wild yeast! I bet everyone else who is reading this already knew that but it came as a revelation to me.
